Poem 8.11.21: souls

1–2 minutes

read

So much is said of
hearts and minds,
but what of a precocious Soul
who has only known the spoils of division and conquest.

What of a precocious Soul
who in concert with a slow bending arch, took victory laps prior to reaching justice.

Celebrating its path
Stammering in and out of justice’s
cadence.

What would you think of this dear Soul?
Have you journeyed?
Have you found yourself more common than exceptional?

What now
of your impartiality?

Are we now both
found out? Both,
in dire need of soothing,
and saving.
